The team developing and building a new O'Reilly Auto Parts store in New Orleans East struggled with aspects of obtaining their building permit. LAEX was hired to shepherd the tangential permit challenges of City Planning Commission's storm water management approval and the Department of Public Work's curb cut permit. Lots of luck to Berry Engineers and Hutton Design Build with the out-of-the-ground project.
In the beginning of 2017, Louisiana Expeditors delivered a quick-turn-around permit expediting project for a Chicago builder who is constructing a very large warehouse in the Port Allen area. Louisiana Expeditors delivered the State Fire Marshal Permit, West Baton Rouge Parish Building Permit and DPW permit with expertise and speed. We were able to provide value to our client by financing the hefty permit and review fees, introduce them to local vendors and agencies, and streamline response to the myriad of permit questions that arise during the major undertaking of such a large ground-up project.
In 2017, Louisiana Expeditors assisted Whiting Turner with State Fire Marshal and City of Kenner permits for a major re-branding effort. The work included kiosk, signage and millwork renovations and changes due to a merger of two of the major airlines at MSY.
In early June 2016, Louisiana Expeditors secured the building permit for a new 35,000-square-foot, two-floor Norsdstrom Rack to be built at the Riverwalk. The store will anchor the upriver end of the recently renovated Riverwalk. It will be the first Nordstrom company store to open in the New Orleans metropolitan market. See press link here.
Louisiana Expeditors completed a permit acquisition project for Wingstop, a take out/ delivery hot wing restaurant, in September 2015. The project, which included Louisiana Expeditor stops at DHH, DPS, and Safety & Permits, was not without its challenges, but ultimately completed to the satisfaction of the owner and builder. Delicious!
So far this year Louisiana Expeditors has secured permits for the following national brands: the Marriot, the Royal Sonesta, Walgreens, The Fresh Market and Merrill Lynch.

Recently, Louisiana Expeditors delivered to Burns & McDonnell the necessary building permits for their new project in the heart of the new New Orleans medical zone. Our expediting portion was delivered on time and under budget. The project, built for Entergy on behalf of LSU is a three story steam plant that will service the nearby medical facilities. The expediting elements included many facets of agency participation on both the city and state level. Louisiana Expeditors was able to travel through the long permit path with nimbleness and transparency.
